A Blessing for the Journey
Making changes is seldom easy. Changing leaders, pastors, or creating a new organization---doing something new or in a new way can be unsettling….if we let that happen. We can also face change as a refreshing opportunity to move ahead with life.
I like the writings of John O’Donohue, an Irish priest who wrote many publications on blessings and hope. This piece is from his book, To Bless the Space Between Us. It may give you some new ideas for thinking about a new way…..along the way!
We seldom notice how each day is a holy place
Where the eucharist of the ordinary happens,
Transforming our broken fragments into an eternal
Continuity that keeps us.
Somewhere in us a dignity presides that is more
gracious than the small that fuels us with fear and force,
A dignity that trusts the form a day takes.
So at the end of this day, we give thanks for being
Betrothed to the unknown, and for the secret work
through which the mind of the day and wisdom of the
soul become one.
Blessings to you this week….Beth
